My baby is getting too big!

Grrrrr. I always put pictures on here in the wrong order. I was going to end with this photo but I guess it will now be first. This is Connor on a slide in toontown right before his face stopped him from sliding and his whole body almost went over his head, a little scary but really hilarious.

Danny and I got season passes to Disneyland and we have been trying to make sure we get our moneys worth. Danny even said we should get a Disney "Go" bag so we can just pick up and go whenever we want.....I love that guy. Here are a couple of pictures though that show how big Connor has gotten in only one year! I can't believe he will be two in two months! He is such a blessing to our family and I don't know what we would do without him.

And I also can't believe my baby brother is on a mission! Sad that he couldn't be in this years picture, but happy that he is serving the Lord and is the best missionary ever!
We will try to post more pictures of our Disneyland adventures, but this will have to do for now.

Since Connor is seriously obsessed with cars we were so excited that his first real movie in the theater would be Cars 2. He did really well for the first part and then I gave him too many jelly bellies and he went into full cute but crazy mode. He kept pointing at the screen and yelling jibberish at us, he literally was running circles around the theater, and then he just gave up and wanted to run around outside. It was fun, but we were not smart for having him sit through the previews, he would have lasted longer if we just sat him down right when the movie started. Oh well, we have learned and hopefully when we see the new Winnie the Pooh, things might go better.

4th of July

This year was a super fun Fourth of July. We started off by going to our ward breakfast, then went to the downtown Ypsilanti parade-Connor loved all of the cars, and finished off by going down to Ohio for fireworks with cousins. We stopped on the way down to Ohio to buy ourselves some fireworks since where we were going they didn't have a show (lame), and became completely overwhelmed with how many types of fireworks there actually are. We just bought a hodge podge and it turned out great. Especially the ones that you lit and had no idea where they would go and Danny almost burned down my Uncles brothers house down. Good times.

Again, our besties the Witts. We already miss them so much. Connor's first word was actually "jonah", that's how much we all love these guys.
There was a lot of cool military cars at the parade, and there were flybys by some really cool airplanes.
Connor and Lilly both did NOT like the fireworks at all. We tried to hide out in the back of the 4 Runner but that didn't even work. My Uncle had bought actual real huge fireworks so I can see why the littles would be so scared.

Disneyland

I want everyone to know that yes, I know these blogs are completely out of order and totally random, but hey, at least I'm doing it right? We got to go to Disneyland the other day and it was such a blast. Connor was hesitant at first and it took him a while to realize we really were at the happiest place on earth, but he figured it out eventually and had a ton of fun. It was especially fun because my Aunt Jenny came with my cousin Jackson who is only a year older than Connor. They seemed to get along and it's fun having someone that wants to do the same things as Connor. P.S. Jackson is also one of the cutest kids ever!

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend we went to DC to visit Danny's sister Ann and her family before Danny deploys. It was such a fun trip!! We just hung out every day and it couldn't have been more fun. I wish we would have taken more pictures but alas we did not.

On Monday we went to a rose garden party. It was so beautiful and the hosts were so gracious to have us over. They had so much to do for the kids and tons of food, it was great! It was also great when Connor threw a can of rootbeer into the fish pond. I'm not going to lie, this child has definitely made me feel so embarrassed to be his mother recently.
They had these fun pumps that blew up balloons that would shoot into the sky! Danny was so awesome and just kept blowing them up for kids even though it was so so freaking hot in the sun!
We gave the girls a makeover on one of the nights, it was really fun! I hope we have a girl next!
Connor loved to climb up onto Emmetts desk and play on the computer...again another one of those embarrassing moments, but you just have to laugh.
On our last day we got to go see Leia perform with her preschool and sing songs. It was so awesome and she did great!

It was a fun experience but in my personal opinion the cupcakes were not so good, I don't know, it might be because I don't like buttercream frosting. But we still had fun walking around and going through some shops. I even found a couple of skirts that I loved and Danny bought for me, score!

On our fun and exciting move from Michigan to California we took a one day breather so that Connor and I could meet up with Danny's family. We were both so excited to see everyone since Katie's family hadn't even met Connor yet! Connor loved his cousins and it was such a fun day.

Danny's Graduation

I am obviously a horrible blogger, but I am determined to get better since Danny will be deployed soon. So here we go....Danny is amazing and graduated from Eastern Michigan University!! It was such an awesome day and we couldn't be more proud of him. He wasn't too pleased that I made him walk, but I think he will thank me one day.

After his commencement we went to his favorite restaurant of all time...Slows in downtown Detroit. And we were so lucky to have Mike Small come meet us. He is seriously one of the best guys ever! All you single ladies.....let me know if you are interested.

I have been going through Connor's closet lately to clean out the clothes that no longer fit him. Yesterday I came across this fun snowsuit that he actually never even wore because I wasn't brave enough to take him out in the snow (In Michigan, it is like below zero degrees and feels even colder) But I thought I would put him in it just for fun to see what he looked like. I'm glad I have a baby to keep me entertained.

Danny's 30th Birthday

Danny's 30th birthday is this friday, but I threw him a surprise party yesterday. We started with dinner at Carrabba's and then we went to the Tigers game. It was so fun, and all of our besties where there to celebrate with us. Thanks again to everyone who came! Danny had a blast and was truly surprised about the game (He found out about the dinner) It was Connors first baseball game and he did awesome! He stayed awake for the whole thing and only got fussy at the end. He's the best baby ever. I also threw together some party favor bags which were really fun- it included a water bottle which I relabeled "Dannygua", a bag of peanuts, M&M's, Big league chew and a noise maker. It was a good night.

He's growing again!

Connor actually lost weight and stopped growing for a couple of months, but after visiting the allergist today we found out he started growing again!! He is now 27 3/4" and 18 lbs. 15 oz. Way to go big boy!

Well, since I'm horrible about knowing how to use the blogger format, I guess pictures will be first today....

Well it's about time to update this thing. The last time I did it was right after Connor was born, 9 months ago....whoopsie! So I'll just make a list of things of interest that is currently going on in our family.

We got Toledo Zoo passes, and Connor LOVES the animals so we go as often as we can
Danny is still working at Carrabba's, and hangs out with us during the day
We love going to the pool, our favorite is toddler time at the local pool, where on tue, thurs and sat they have an hour where only kids 0-4 are allowed to swim. And it only costs a DOLLAR
I have gotten into couponing. It has become and addiction which is good for the most part. It takes a lot of time, but I try to stay on top of it. I have gotten a lot of free stuff, so that is neat. Recently I MADE $13 from shopping at Staples....that was easy. lol
Connor is crawling, and he is super speedy
Connor loves to eat grapes, nectarines, oatmeal, gerber puffs, and loves to drink water and juice from his toy story tummy ticklers--if you don't have one, get one.
Everytime Connor hears music he starts to dance, it's the cutest thing ever
Connor has a stink face, he can wave, he chases Kuzco around the house, he pulls himself up onto everything, and he loves to get into everything
Connor has six teeth, he loves to bite me...and it really hurts. He actually bit my butt the other day and he also likes to try to eat my nose when I'm lying down.
We shaved Kuzco so he looks like a really skinny pathetic lion
Connor is severely allergic to milk, and mildly allergic to peanuts. We now carry an Epi pen with us everywhere we go. It's scary because of how truly allergic he is to milk, Danny kissed him on the cheek the other day after eating doritos and he got hives. I also gave him pears that were manufactured in a place that processes milk and he had a reaction. It totally stinks, but atleast we know what's going on with this kiddo
I haven't had anything milk related for a few months now because I am still breastfeeding Connor and it totally sucks. I can't wait to eat chocolate, donuts, cheese, and many other things. I will probably gain ten pounds once I am done breastfeeding Connor
Danny made Sargeant in the Marine Corp which is totally awesome!!! I am so proud of my studdly husband
Danny is now a cub scout leader, but he was bummed when he found out that they don't go out on campouts
I am now on the enrichment commitee, Super Saturday is going to rock your socks this year
Danny is scheduled to go to Aghanistan next September, so that is craziness
Danny is still in the sniper platoon, and is in the top three to go to sniper school so we are crossing our fingers that he gets to go soon
Danny has lost over 30 pounds, so he is sexier than eve
Danny is turning 30 in a few days, he is so old!
Danny will be graduating from Eastern Michigan University in April, wahoo!
We took our first family pictures, our friend Ashley was a photographer and she did an amazing job
We have had multiple tornado warning's this summer. It totally freaks me out and Danny always makes fun of me because I always go down into the basement
Connor is the cutest baby ever, seriously, and he has the best temprament. He loves watching and interacting with people

Just Life

Well, we must apologize about the blog which we hold. We have not done a good job at keeping you up to date on our lives witch I am sure everyone is dying to hear about. Lets face it, we are interesting people and I know that all of you are going to take time out of your schedules to read what we have to say. well maybe not but its good to dream. The last few months have been a blasty blast, we have had our hands full and everyone keeps on telling us that its a good thing. We will start with Connor, he is just fun. He is such a funny kid and we can't help but think that he is the cutest thing on the planet. He was blessed on the 21st of February and we had the great fortune to have both of our Grandpa's come out and join in the blessing. Connor has yet to roll over (on purpose but it still counts) and has yet to start walking. I even tried playing catch with him the other day and he won't catch a football....yet. Other than that he is doing great he is a happy baby and defiantly brings joy into our home. Chelsea is just the love of my life. She is the best mother and I just love to watch her play with Connor. She worries more than anyone that I have ever seen and its just funny. She has turned into quite the coupon queen and I receive picture updates all the time with the things she has purchased and how much she has saved. She loves being a mother and if you ever call and she does not answer, its most likely because she is up to her elbows in poopy, lol. She is so busy and she always manages to have a clean house and cooks for me on a regular basis (that is why I am fat). She is the best example to me and always keeps me on my toes. p.s. even though she is small she can still take care of herself and has some wicked slap moves. She is so helpful to me and she helps me with everything. And then there is me, Don Hertig. right now I have a full plate and can't wait for summer. I am taking 15 credit hours at Eastern Michigan and the are all Political Science classes, needless to say Chelsea has to deal with my rants almost every day after school. I am enjoying school as much as one can but am happy to say that I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am also still at Carrabba's Italian Grill, this has been a great motivator for me to get through school. I am averaging around 30 hours a week with serving and bar tending. Its amazing how someone that has never drank in his life can BS about drinks, I tend to live by the phrase, when in doubt add more alcohol. this brings the tips coming in and our guests happy. The Marine Corp is great, I am loving my new platoon that I am in and am just having a good time. Who knows what will happen in the future with Afghanistan but we are always ready to do what we have to do. I am the Basketball coach for the young men in our ward and have loved playing ball. Although we have not had to many games (1) I think we are the champs because we won our first game by like 30-40 points. That is just fun. I hope that you all enjoyed the update and we will try to keep it up.

Halloween!!!

I absolutely love the fall!!! And I also love halloween, mainly because I really only have halloween decorations for our house so far.. hehe. Danny and I went to a pumpkin patch and got to pick our pumpkins--which were an amazing deal by the way-- we got 2 large pumpkins, 1 medium pumpkin and 1 small pumpkin for $14!! I'm sure others got better deals, but oh well. This was Danny's first time carving (Crazy I know!!) but he did awesome! As in family tradition we also made sure to make sure to take a picture with our pumpkin while making the face we carved into it. I was also excited because Danny and I got to go to our ward halloween party which was so fun! We got to tote around a couple of our friends kids while she was busy with the party and it was a blast. Games, trunk or treating, and lots of chili. mmmm. And I was Juno by the way, I don't think a lot of people in our ward got it, so they probably thought I was just some wierdo dressing pregnant girl, but oh well. Overall it's been a good start to fall and I am dying to go to an apple orchard one of these days, even though I know it's already late in the season. And with only 9 days left until connor is due, we will see if that happens. Connors first outside experience might just be an outing to an orchard.

Tribute

Well here I am sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing, and feeling completely lazy. And that is one feeling I really hate, I hate feeling lazy. So I decided to write a tribute to my husband. I've been thinking and reflecting about how lucky I am to have him a lot lately. And I know this won't come out the way I really want it to, I know I can't truly express how blessed I am to have him as my husband, but I thought I might try. So here it goes....My husband is one of the strongest people I have ever met. He has gone through so much in his life and still has such a strong testimony of the gospel. He doesn't ever use his rough life experiences as an excuse to do or think things that would go against what he knows to be true. Danny is also the most caring person I have ever met. I know that he might seem like a big tough guy to most (which he is), but he is also the biggest teddy bear on the inside.

He would drop everything in a second to help someone in need. While I have been pregnant he has been the most understanding person ever. He never makes me feel bad for being lazy and not getting things done, he is just completely supportive and so loving. He makes me feel truly beautiful every day, even when my hair is sticking out every which way and my eyes are smudged with old mascara. And he even loves me after gaining 26 pounds and becoming twice as big as I used to be. I love the fact that he is a marine and is defending our country, I can't express how proud it makes me to be married to him and how much more I've come to respect those who are in the services. Plus he does look really good in the uniform. He is also extremely hard working. I know I will never have to worry about being taken care of because he is so strong willed and is amazing at everything he does. I also love danny because he is truly a family man, he is going to be the best dad ever and I can't wait to see him with little baby Connor. I can't wait to watch him coach our kids football teams and be there on the sidelines cheering my family on.

Danny is also one on the funniest people I know. He can always make me laugh and it's so hard to be mad at him because he is such a silly billy. I think that's one of the reasons why everyone loves him.

I am truly amazed at how he can get along with anyone. I also appreciate how he is almost completely opposite of me when it comes to being a worry wart. I don't think Danny has ever worried about a thing in his whole life, he is so carefree and has so much faith in everything. I am also so grateful for my husband because he completely honors his priesthood. He is always able to give me a blessing in times of need and can completely put me at ease. I guess this wouldn't be complete without me saying that my husband is also very handsome. He is so good looking with his sexy bald head and amazing smile. I know I still haven't said everything that I wanted to about my husband but I'll stop boring everyone and making everyone barf with all of this lovey dovey talk. I just can't tell you how lucky I am to have him in my life and I am so excited to grow old with him and someday be 80 years old sitting on a park bench holding hands. I love you babe for forever.

You know you're a housewife when....

You know you're a housewife when one of the best days ever is the day you receive these beauties!!! Danny and I finally went to home depot and got ourselves a brand spankin new washer and dryer. I'm so excited because I have been going to the laundromat for the past year and a couple of months and I absolutely hated it, so this new purchase is truly a blessing to me. Danny and I have been up to a lot lately, we went on a trip to Utah which was a blast. We got to see a lot of family and we had a baby shower. Danny left me all by myself for two weeks while he went to "satans buttcrack" in California for marine corp. training....yeah it was definitely a long two weeks for the both of us. I really don't know if I'd be able to handle a deployment, but I did get to watch a lot of TV shows that Danny doesn't like such as toddlers and tiaras and the secret life of the american teenager (yeah that one is actually really dumb, but I still watch it for some reason.) Danny just started school today, it's pretty exciting and we hope the next two years go by pretty fast- after getting your car keyed, having someone try to spit on your car as you drive by, and dealing with immature adults, Michigan isn't our favorite place, but we are still trying to be positive. On a good note, Connor is still growing and is healthy. I'm definitely feeling huge these days and getting more and more uncomfortable each day. Connor continues to stretch out my ribs which definitely doesn't feel good, and he did have the hiccups for the first time the other day which I thought was really funnny. But here's a picture of my huge belly at 31 weeks, I really can't conceive of myself getting any bigger than this but I still have two more months, so we'll see what happens.

Yes ladies and gentleman we are having a BOY!!!!! I don't think a couple could have been more excited to hear the words "you're having a boy" We both shouted "Yeah" so loud we frightened the sonogram technician. Danny even did a little jig when she left the room...and it was really funny. We also decided on a name, as you can see- Connor Strong Hertig. Maximus will just have to wait until we have another baby- I know what a shame. So here is a picture of us after we found out it was a boy This is us buying his first outfits. I'm holding his coming home outfit- it has little baby dinasours and matching dinasour sock feet and a beanie. Danny was very excited to find a cute outfit that said "daddy loves me" and of course a football sleeper. We seriously can't express how excited and grateful we are to have this baby and thank you everyone for all of your support, it means so much to us. Well, we'll chat at ya later!

I forgot to mention that Danny has informed me that "he's glad he has his wife back." Apparently birth control and early pregnancy changed me into a little bit of a monster, but now I'm back to my normal self. And I'm not going to lie, I do feel like myself again and it is a lot more fun. I'm just glad he stuck with me for a few rough months and I feel bad that he could have thought that I really changed forever. What a silly billy.

So danny and I have been very busy these past few weeks, not that I'm great about blogging anyways, but I apologize for the tardiness of this post. First and foremost is that we do have another exciting announcement......Danny (my amazingly attractive and extremely awesome and hilarous husband) passed his sniper indoc!!!!!!! So soon he'll look like this Yeah, it's pretty awesome, and I'm so proud of him. I think it's pretty cool that my husband could one day be the guy on top of the whitehouse.....o.k., maybe that's a little far fetched, but you never know. I'm still so amazed at how lucky I am to get such an amazing husband. Oh, and another good thing that comes out of him being in a sniper unit is that he gets to go to sniper school which just happens to be for two months at camp pendleton. This means that me and our soon to be baby will get to live at home in sunny San Diego while he unforntunately has to live in the bushes. We will definitely miss him but atleast I won't be by myself, I get to be with my family!!!

Another thing we've been up to is just having some fun in Michigan. I got to go to a Tigers vs. the Redsox game which I think a few of our friends may be a little jealous of. It was really fun but unfortunately I forgot the camera, and the tigers got slaughtered. We also have been BBQing it up quite a bit, I really love summer food like watermelon and corn on the cob so we tend to have it quite often. We also went to the toledo zoo with these two silly billiesJackson and Rueben were our house guests for a couple of days and it was a blast. We were lucky enough to get to go to the zoo for memorial day with my Aunt Jill and her kids (thanks again Aunt Jill for the free tickets) and I have to admit it definitely isn't the San Diego Zoo, but it was still fun. I really enjoyed looking at the bugs, for some reason they really fascinate me even though I'm scared to death of them.

We also finally got to mow the lawn. Unfortunately our lawn mower broke so we had to wait for a new one to get shipped to us and we couldn't mow our lawn for a few weeks. I don't think I have ever seen grass so long, it was pretty amazing. Danny made me take a picture with it to show how long it actually was.I also accomplished another craft project. I made my first CapriSun purse. Well, it was actually made out of Kool-Aid Jammers, but I was really impressed with myself and it actually turned out. My next project is to make a vest out of purple Kool-Aid Jammers for our friend Ginormo....yeah, we'll see how that one works out. lol.

And lastly for baby Hertig news....not much really. The baby is healthy and we got to hear it's heartbeat. If you want to know what it sounds like ask Danny because he can do a really good impression. We finally get to find out what it is in two weeks and we are so excited. We are still hoping for a boy, although, our close friends who are just two weeks behind us and thought that they were having a girl are actually having a boy. So we think that since we want a boy so bad and all the old wives tales tell us that we're having a boy, and even Danny's facebook quiz revealed that we are having a boy, we are most likely having a girl. But no matter what we are happy and just want a healthy baby. However, if it is a girl we will reveal her name ....... it will be Chloe Randall Hertig. Ta dah! My dad has always wanted someone named after him so we hope this will do. We are still contemplating boys names so we will have to get back at ya for that one. Well I think I'm done writing my short novel so I'll let you kiddos go.

Our First Tigers Game!

Our friends from work invited us to go to our first Tigers game and we had a blast! Danny and I started the evening by going out to dinner at a restaurant called hockeytown- it was dedicated to the detroit red wings. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was fun. We then headed across the street to comerica park and got our tickets for the big game. It was 80's night so there was about ten delorian cars parked outside along with ghostbusters, storm troopers and the teenage mutant ninja turtles. I'm not going to lie, I was just excited to get into the park because I was craving a pretzel and diet coke--which I did end up getting and sadly turned out to be disappointed because the pretzel was stale--boo! We then met up with our friends from work and had fun watching the game. We definitely contributed to concessions profits with not only my pretzel and soda, but a super rope, two hot dogs and an ice cream sandwhich. The tigers ended up losing it in the sixth or seventh inning but we still had a good time, and we got free t-shirts. This is a picture of the game, we were out in left field which was pretty good seats for only 16 bucks. This is Danny and I, and yes, I was representing my hometown -- Go Padres!! And behind us are some underage drinkers. lol.

Ginormo is probably one of the funniest kids ever and is very entertaining.

We asked an usher to take a picture of us with the tigers stuff in the background and well....as you can tell he wasn't the best photographer, but oh well. The stadium was really cool, a lot of tigers with baseballs in thier mouths. The actual Tiger stadium isn't used anymore for the tigers games. There was even a carousel in comerica park though which was pretty cool.

And that ends our adventure. We were actually really excited because there wasn't even any traffic on the way home, which is a lot different from the hour traffic you sit in coming home from the padres game.

Well I thought that I would just let everyone know what is going on with us at the moment. I am almost done with school and am counting down the days like I'm still in High School. We are so happy that Chelsea is pregnant, but we are still in shock. She is feeling better but still not 100%-- we are wondering if that will ever be accomplished. We played our first 18 holes of golf last week and I played like the rookie that I am, Chelsea even beat me on the back nine(I know Bud pathetic) We can't wait to go out to Utah--that is the one thing that keeps us going at work, we both can't stand Carrabba's even though I have managed to become the mini selling King. I had a third of the mini sales last week, needless to say my boss was happy. The Marine Corp is doing good I am preparing for the sniper en-doc that will take place in June so I hope to pass with flying colors. I have even managed to lose some of the married weight that I so healthily put on after I married Chelsea and yes its her fault. Other than that same old crap different day.

Well I went to my first appointment with my doctor today and had a sonagram. And the results are in.......we have a healthy baby that is right where it's supposed to be! I am so excited because I think we all know how much of a worry wart I am and I couldn't wait to see the doctor to make sure everything was going o.k. This sonagram thing is pretty crazy, I actually saw the baby move while it was on the screen!!! It's alive! I still can't believe I have a little alien baby growing inside me. I haven't gained any weight, only lost weight due to the fact that all of my muscle has turned into fat from laying on the couch all day before work- so that's awesome. Hopefully I'll feel good enought to go to the gym soon so I can atleast tone some problem areas. And I want all of you Utah folk to know how lucky you are to have Zupas, Costa Vida, Fro-Yo and Rumbi's....I would seriously KILL for a pork smothered burrito right now. In-n-out has also been calling my name lately. grrrrr. There is no good food in MI and it is so depressing. I just can't wait until the end of July when I can finally satisfy all of my food cravings on our trip to utah. Only 3 more months!!!! Back to the baby..... We will be finding out the sex of baby Hertig at the beginning of July. We really want a boy, but most of all we want a healthy baby. Welp kiddos I'm going to order a pizza so I'm going to go. I'll chat at ya later (I stole that one from my mom)

Well here is a fun Photo and I guess we will let you all know that Chelsea has a due date, Nov 9th so we are both really happy and can't wait. So far Chelsea is doing great, she has been sick as expected and well she can't wait for that to stop. We can't wait as most of you probably suspect and thanks to everyone for all your support.

So we all know that Danny killed handa the Honda in an accident a couple of months ago. So we are proud to announce that we have finally welcomed a new addition to our family. This is Danny's new love, a Nissan Altima that he has wanted for quite some time.

So I got a sewing machine for christmas from my awesome hubby and I've gotten into this whole new craft kick. So basically I look for any excuse I can get to try to express my creative ability....which isn't that much right now, but I hope to improve with experience and further training. I made this first quilt for a little girl in our ward, she is so stinkin cute and she is definitely one of my favorites

Next was a quilt for one of Danny's marine corp. friends who recently had a baby boy. It was working out o.k. until I realized that the patch became off center when I sewed the quilt together... but oh well. I learned from it and now I'll do better next time.

And lastly, Danny and I got invited to a fun superbowl party so I decided to make a football cake! We got the pan for our wedding and I was excited to finally use it.
Next is another baby quilt for one of our manager's who has a baby on the way. And then it's off to finishing off putting things together around the house, which is coming along pretty well if I say so myself - thank you Better Home and Gardens.

Well, its been a while so I guess that it is time that we share our Christmas with you. Chelsea and I had the opportunity to travel out to California and spend the Holidays with her family. We got there a few days before Christmas and I had the joy of learning the traditions of my new family. Puzzles, Movies and much much more. He had so much fun enjoying the great weather and the fantastic shopping, we even had time to go and hit a session at the San Diego Temple and just sit back and enjoy each others company. And don't worry we made it back in time for more snow and more, and more. Here we also had a chance to go and see Darth Vader at the Lego store and yes he is all Lego's it was sweet. Above that pic is us so darn happy that we just found some sweet Carmel apples, they were so good.

Marine Corp Ball

Well this is a little late because well I had to do it. But this is the first time that Chelsea and I had the opportunity to experience the Marine Corp Ball together. Last year Chelsea was mad because I did not invite her but now she is all smiles. This year was a very special year because the Commandant of the Marine Corp was there to grace us with his presence. Note Chelsea's beautiful dress that is modest, it took forever to find and in the end Chelsea sewed on the black cardigan, she rocks. Although the blues that I am wearing are a bit snug you must notice the corporal chevrons promotions rock. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the party.

Washington DC!!!!!

This thanksgiving we got the amazing opportunity to go to Washington D.C.!!! I was so excited because I had never been there before and Danny was excited because D.C. is his favorite city. Danny's sister Ann was nice enough to have us over and stay at her house and we couldn't have asked for a better holiday. Our friends Josh and Jess also live in D.C. so our trip was just full of fun times with awesome friends and family. So...... This is our tourguide Jessica, she is the best ever and very knowledgable...especially about good food.

I got to see Dorothy's ruby red slippers in the american history museum!! We also saw the star spangled banner there and it was uh-mAzing. Oh, and by the way, we also have to give jessica credit for all these pictures, someone, we won't mention names, forgot to charge his camera and so jessica was nice enough to take these for us on her camera.

This is a guy from the Korean War memorial, it was so uh-mazing, we saw it at night and it was awesome.

Basically my mom has been wondering what our house looks like and for some reason she thinks we live in the ghetto so we decided to put up this post to ensure her that we live in a nice neighborhood thats safe and family friendly. So here is our house. We really love it and it's perfect for us.

So one of our neighboors told me about this hidden nature trail the other day and so I did a little exploring and it was amazing!! It was so beautiful and after it taking over a week to get danny to go back with me, we finally took a nature walk together. So here are a few pictures of "nature" It is literally just behind our housing development.

Danny's Birthday!!

Danny's birthday was August 6th, which was forever ago, but I still wanted to post the couple pictures that we had from his special day. On his birthday we went to the Harley-Davidson store and walked around the mall to get out of the house. Then I made his favorite dinner which is ham and au gratin potatoes. The ham turned out o.k., the potatoes were another story. And lastly we had his birthday cake, another one of his favorites--real strawberry cake. I had a major problem with the frosting which you can see in the pictures. Instead of being a nice thick and creamy frosting, it was basically a watery melted frosting, but it still tasted good, it was just ugly. Overall danny says he had a great birthday and I hope by his next birthday my cooking skills will have improved.

Date Night!!

Danny and I took our night off to go out on a date. It was actually so so cute because we were in the living room together and then suddenly danny dissapeared. Then my phone rang and it was danny asking me out on a date. He planned the whole thing to a "T" and it was a perfect. We started with sushi, then went to miniature golf, got ice cream, and ended it with watching "Maid of Honor" at home. It was amazing and I couldn't ask for a better husband, he is awesome.

Well it seems like everyone has one of these things now and I guess it's time danny and I jumped on the bandwagon as well. I guess I'll just start with an update of what has been going on since we got married--

We moved to Ypsilanti, MI...yes, it's a real place

We have our own house and it's awesome (we even have our own rooms, mine is pink and his is blue)

Danny goes to school

We both work at Carrabba's

Danny is having a blast with his brothers in the Marine Corp

I am dying to get a kitten so I can have a new friend to keep me company while danny is gone

Well I'll try to keep this updated on the new and exciting things danny and I are doing. Look forward to danny's birthday video coming soon--it's pretty funny.
